Bad Blogger

Since i have moved to the big city I have been a terrable blogger. Saddly, and funny enough this is due in part to the fact that I no longer have a borring desk job to which I could scroll and click away on the key board till my hearts content. It isn't as easy to read up on everyone on here I love so dearly on my phone while I seat people and take drink orders.
But still, I am sure I could make better use of my time (aka sleeping) and start to get back into the swing of things and do things I enjoy. Like blogging, reading, and being outside.

E and I had our Christmas Tree Lighting Party last night and it was a total success! People came, ate, drank danced, laughed and sang...sure it was along to Glee when the show came on.. but hey it was early...and they are all actors and singers! They can't resist the Glee.

I was so impressed by the ornaments that people made and brought with them. Some where sweet and crafty like a figurine painted gold, or a small jello mold, one person dehydrated orange slices and glazed them to look like glass! Another a small piece of a statue from a church that had been torn down in Brooklyn, others bought theirs and those are just as lovely too!

Oddly the topic of blogging did come up. I believe it was the phrase "Who blogs? I mean No One cares people, stop blogging!" that made me thin twice before I timidly confessed to this here blog. But you know something? I think people just don't now what the hell it is! And true to human natural, it weirds them out because of that. When I did tell them I had a blog (or one that I was rather neglecting) they flung questions at me I am now used to answering. "Who reads it?""what do you write about?" "So you dont actually KNOW these people?".
:)
I smiled and told them I know all of you, and maybe some even better then people who see you on a day to day basis. Here you can be open and free. And I love that.

I am going to work on a post about the different mindset of New Yorkers. Its really very funny at times, enlightening and frightening too.

: There are people who just don't care.. and there are those who really just don't give a fuck. And the man whom I saw peeing between cars on 8th today at 3pm in the afternoon fell into that category. And a good afternoon to you too sir.

I hope you are well,
and I hope you are still out there :)

Baby It's Cold Outside

The weather is changing here in NYC. For the first time here, my face is cold, my hands are cold, and my ears are cold. I know that "cold" hasn't even started though for the winter.

But with the cold wind also comes the Christmas season! E and I went and bought our tree the other day and trekked it right on home fully equipped with some garland as well.  Our tree is all set up with lights, a star on top and some red berries. We even watched Parenthood (while crying of course) and strung popcorn!! I have never done that before, and it was really fun to do. I made the center piece for our table, and the wreath as well! Of course Mamba and I needed to have some new stockings, so glitter pens were purchased and I went to town :)

E and I plan to have a Christmas Tree lighting party. We are inviting about 15-20 people to come and drink wine, eat treats, play games, and each person is asked to bring a home made ornament to place on the tree before we light it up :) Doesn't that sound like fun?!

I love NYC, and the people I am meeting are great. So friendly, but I still miss my sisters and my friends oh so much. I can't wait until family and friends come so that I can share what I have come to love about the city with them, and find new places as well.

Still can't up load photos (booooo blogger) so when I do there will be a flood of them I am sure!!

OH and I am done painting my room "Jamaican Bay" teal and "frolic" pink. I found a rug at Urban Outtfiters to match the colors and bring in some greens, reds and browns.

Mamba and Toby are actually playing now! They chase each other and run around. But every now and then Toby's claws get the better of poor Mamba and thats when I find her cuddled up in my bed :/ Poor little kitty cat.

OH and the other day I went to Michaels to buy white chocolate peppermint candies, candy molds and Oreo cookies to create a yummie yummie treat!!!

I miss reading Harry Potter, I miss Sister Sundays, and I miss Paradise Bakery cookies :)

Start Spreading the News...

For some time now Frankie singing "New York, New York" has been my ring tone. I have loads of pictures to share, but can't figure out the how tos just yet. But it feels so very odd to have not been on my beloved blogger in so long. So where should I begin?

On Wednesday night two weeks ago, I sat around my kitchen table in Chandler Az and laughed and chatted with my three very best friends and my sister dearest. I cried a rather ugly cry when it came time to say good bye to each of them. And in many ways I don't think it has STILL hit me that they are not right around the corner from me.
The flight with mamba my darling brave kitty cat was...trying. On both of our nerves. The calming meds laughed in both our faces and did little to actually put her to sleep. In fact on a rather particularly shaky landing into Chicago it was both incredibly sad, and funny in a way only a delirious woman such as myself could find funny when mamba projectile vomited out of her kennel on the plane. yep.. I was that girl.
She is so happy now though in her new digs, and his making less and less hissing sounds at her new buddy Toby..my new roommates female cat.

I love New York. It i exactly what I wanted it to be without it trying too hard. I came at just the right time to still see the beautiful changing leaves and have the fun brisk walks with colorful scarves and cute shoes. SHOES! Oh the shoes. How they have let me down. I am not sure if I'm the only one, or if no one else is talking about it. So let me be the first. MY FEET KILL. I mean this in a very real way. Waiting in long lines at amusement parks feet has NOTHING on this feeling. Hiking all day in poor quality shoes have NOTHING on these feet. These feet burn they hurt so bad. Throbbing would be better then the amount of pain I get in my feet. If You say "try inserts" I might just come through my screen and strangle you..a little. Because I have currently THREE different kinds in my one pair of shoes. So. Sex in the City can suck it because ain't no way I will be jaunting around town in high heels for the look of it. I'm getting all "working Girl" in this bitch and wearing practical ugly shoes with a cuter pair hidden n my giant baglady bag.
Well... that was a rather unexpected rant. Needed however.

I have started to train at the Tequila Bar and Resturant and I love it.  work with some very nice and talented people. Singers dancers acters.. everyones got something. Except this girl (me) who is an  massage therapist :) There have been a few celebs who have come in which is fun and also a test of just how creepy one is. Such as when the girl from Boy Meets World came in and I had to resist the urge to reach out and pet her hair. I didn't of course.. but man did I want to. Ugh red flags right! lol

I have learned three things thus far about New Yorkers. One: they aren't that mean.. and if you are being yelled at by one of them you probably deserve it. Just like the woman I yelled at on the street three days in of being here.. you just cant STOP in the way of everyone come on now. Two: They aren't looking up not because they are jaded and no longer appreciate the view of the buildings.. its because we are trying to not trip, or step in something sticky and yucky. And Three: Theyre kinda awesome. I cant explain the last one. But when I was riding on the subway one day tired and unwilling to give my seat up to anyone, I watched and joined in as everyone in the car got up and gave their seat up to the tired and cold runners of the New York City Marathon runners complete with a round of applause each time more got on. They surprise me, delight me, and inspire me.

So glad I have arrived. So glad that I have you all back too :)

I will write again soon..must go paint my bedroom!

I will also be catching up on all YOUR wonderful blogs too so look for those late comments !

{happy face}

This is Mamba.
My cat.
 And my love.
This is Mamba being pretty much no help at all this past weekend.
 But isn't she a peach?!
{NOT so peachy? Cat hair on my luggage :/}

My sweet sweet bestie A sent me this picture {not sure where she got it} but she said that it reminded her of me in NY.. Aww.. sweetest thing ever right? I know. it is now my screen saver! You know it :)

I have had some amazing conversations with my momma lately. I love her soooo very much! She is wise, but she is HILARIOUS and we laugh until out faces hurt most days on the phone. I will miss being a drive away from her when I move next week.

..isn't she so beautiful! Always with a flower in her hair!

My momma at my bestie "StoBirds" wedding.
Seriously... who else literally kicks up their heels like my momma!

***
Words for thought..
..and Ritz Bitz Cheese are apparently my food for thought as I have eaten so many of them I will soon become a Ritzbitz myself according to my mother if I do not stop eating them. Can't help it though. it is the perfect Emily Dickinson and Harry Potter reading breakfast lunch dinner snack!

I have two feelings on the topic I am about to sent a link to.
One: I don't want to ruffle feathers, and I don't want nasty grahams from peeps on here either. I especially don't want people to be offended.
Two: isn't my blog. Since when is this for anyone else? And besides if you feel the same, or maybe have never thought of things in this light before.. perhaps this will lead you to ask some questions..

It is along the same lines as the documentary I posted about "The Cover" awhile back.

For a while now {since before I became a vegetarian} I have felt that zoos and places like Sea World {***} are just not the best environments for these animals or creatures. I see the benefits to humans of these habitats and have enjoyed going myself as a child and young adult. But for the past several years now after hearing story after story of these animals attacking trainers, or children who are throwing objects at them {you ass hat child! and you ass hat parents!} they are the ones who are being further punished by being put down.
I feel the article I read on Yahoo explained my feelings on it better from PETAs stand point regarding their lawsuit against SeaWorld.
Read it here, and tell me what you think!??

{***} I do not include habitates for endangered species where the goal is to rehabilitate the animal back into the wild, or protective parks that let the animals roam feeling and naturally in the grand acres and acres and acres of land.

Once Upon an Anthropologie dream...

Anthro emailed me this morning {good morning!} guess what? They have NEW STUFFF! Lots and Lost of Pretty Pretty Stuff!
And since technically I still have 4 minutes to sleep until I had to RUN slowly saunter out of the door... I fell back onto my bed floor and dreamt a sweet dream where I had thinner legs, and a fat macdaddy bank account to burn up on rich sofas, textured throws, and floral plates :)

And so.. I give you.. my mid-dream lusts:

I LOVE these bowls. Aren't they Adorable? Aren't you totally jealous of mid-dream me? Me too..
Also I'm a little on the out right nutty side when it comes to silverware :/ I need good and even weight distributed along the prong points and the handle.. I know.. it's ok. I know I;m out there.
I ADORE these plates. I want.. I pine.. I covet! I also really like these different shades of blue for glasses, tea cups and mugs to go along with it!

I also really love these linen napkins. I like the matchy-mismatchyness of it all :)

My bedroom inspiration...Pink, and Gold with neutral tones in ivory, and crystal..

Big Ol cozy chair with plush cozy rug under it  for chilly morning toes

I really like this sort of burnt orange/gold bedding here. I went back and forth on the little color toggle looking at the cream colors and even a deep blue. But I think this one wins out! LOVE the Huckleberry candle mmmm

I'd like..if possible {and in mid-dream land everything is} for my bed to hang and hover over the chilly chilly hard wood floor. Isn't that the most bombtastic thing EVER?
I love the girlie frilly vanity too..although I'd really love to have those show room lights around a large square mirror.
This light on the right reminded me at first as some kind of prison light used in an interrogation room equipped with a suspiciously wet dirty floor and cold hard single steel  chair. But then I made it PuRpLe and it went straight to being my fav new mood lighting!

Obvs my new sofa the curl up and stretch out on while I watch Meredith Grey and Christina be total bad asses. these curtains are so pretty and frilly but also heavy enough to block out the light when I need to recover from the night before :/
This blue throw.. how much do you love it? HOW MUCH!? man that would look SO good in my house, on me, covering up my chilly toes and nose.

Just the lamp shade to replace the nappie one currently on my Grandmothers lamp I received from her passing. LOVE the lamp. Hate the shade. Blugh. So I think this one is so cute to top it off :) Also as of 5:15 this am my bulb burnt out in said lamp {ONLY lamp in my room!} and I just sold my back up bulbs at my yard sale bahaha who knew?

I don't know what this book is about.. but I dig it. and so will my coffee table yo. The chair is to go with the vanity above, and this shelving system is what really sold me on all of this really. How amazballs is this thing! I don't even know how I'd get this home via the subway or cab... but I will carry that shiz all the way home and up the stairs on a dolly if I gots to!

of course these little guys here just bring more mmm and whaaaa? to the room. Just how I like it :)

Then my cat jumped onto my stomach knocking the air out of me and meowed a very loud, very clear "WAKE UP AND FEED ME.. FEEEED ME!!"
So naturally I rolled over and did sort of a tuck and roll move to make her cuddle with me for just one more min. she loved it.
;)

..cozy..

As I force the temperatures to change here in Az {and having poor luck} I decided to get lost this afternoon in a collection of Weheartit cozy images that make my toes and nose feel cold, and my heart feel warm {awww so cheesey I know} Please scroll through and let your mind also drift into a winter warm state of mind ...

i love these little Key Beennies!

this bed looks beyond cozy! Its where cozy goes to get cozy i think!

I can smell these books! I can feel my cheeks thawing out in the warm glow, and I can just hear soft sounds of pages turning...

I'd very much so like to cuddle one of these little bunnies under my chin, and fall into a nice nap with a soft bunny foot or  ear near ...
Try as I might I cannot master this hair color. I asked Underwood to color my hair last night what Revlon calls Dark Mahogany Brown.. and I really like it! But the red! OH the RED!

I think a bike and some leggings are a must in the city. Although I am quite certain I might eat it on the cold slippery and iced over pavement...It's still awfully pretty sight to see go by!

so how was it?

Around the InterWeb

This looks too good and spooky to pass up! I think I shall make this for a comfort food/welcome myself into my new apartment! lol I can totes throw myself my own welcome party right? I mean.. why not!

An entire glass wall that retracts like a garage door? Who thinks of these things? I think I did actually. I was always very creative back in the day with my Lego home layouts for my little "dudes" as we called them ;)

More Spooky Yummie Treats for Halloween!
These cracker and pita bread cut outs are too cute! Almost like he is either rising up out of the Guac, or sinking down into it.. mmmm warm guacamole.. :)

In case you're a Virgo too:
Today may be taken up with doing a lot of last-minute errands. You may be called on to referee a dispute among colleagues, relatives, or neighbors. Depending on the nature of the spat, you may be able to broker a temporary truce, but don't bezl too hard on yourself if tempers simmer despite your best efforts. Try and make relaxation a priority.

And if not then, then follow me!

I'll take that coat, that smile and that location please :)
You can buy it here!

The facial hair? The curly weird mess atop your nogin?
Oh Shia no honey. no no.
Also, please stop the brawling. *sigh*
awwwwwwwwmyshia!

I love this picture, I found it on MSNs Week in Photos. Love looking through them.
Apparently, "Globes are seen at the book fair in Frankfurt, Germany, on Oct. 13. This year's edition of the largest book fair in the world takes place from Oct. 12-16."

I think this would make really neat wallpaper in a study. Or on the ceiling even with little light bulbs in the spots where the globes have that top. So pretty!

kookie furnature site...

Still knee deep in the 3rd Harry Potter book and Looovve.iinnnggg. It!

Curb Check

The "Everything I Own Sale"
Wasn't a big success the first day... but on Sunday I sold almost everything you see here.
Sunday was a riot with my sister Amanda who called out to passer bys, acted as a secret shopper, and continued to refold clothes, stock the shelves and change displays LOL I Love her!

The hectic weekend was complete with the rescue of a tortoise named Turbo. Early Saturday morning I took the dogs out (was house sitting again for a coworker) and  her adorable poodle Daisy kept looking into the pool... I thought oh no she wants to swim at 5am. NOT going to happen lol. After calling her away from the edge three times I noticed something large, and dark in the pool. I crept over with my phone to light the way {bless you iPhone} and realized it was the giant tortoise!! I texted the owner right away but got no response. I called a friend who has small pond turtles but she wasn't sure.. finally she called me back a little shaken and told me that he is NOT to be in the pool and he has NEVER done this before.
{sad side story: her older loveable pup was going blind and was found in the pool a few months back :/ so this was not a happy call for her}
I jumped into the pool, pj bottoms and all, and hoisted the slippery guy out. The water was freezing and I just hope he wasn't in there long. Thankfully I was up early!

He is doing just fine :)

I am still flirty texting with the adorable nice arms Sactown.

I am slo in search of a good cheap costume. I think Im going to go
Black mini
Black witch hat
Black boots.

old school witch lol. and also {cheap!}

That's about it for me ladies. Just packing packing and more packing.. oh and at least 30 bites that i counted from this weekend from my friendly neighborhood mosquito :(

I'm sure you're all up to much more interesting things, do tell what's new?

Jessica Simps.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Jessica Simpson shoes?
if not
I LOVE them!
I really want a pair of cowgirl boots soon. I mean... first a bed...then you know..a coat. but THEN some boots!

Oh! Also I am so excited to start doing my hair and make up like a British pop Star.. think Duffy..

isn't she adorable? I love her songs too. They are very fun and very sweet. I like Syrup and Honey. It's my karaoke song.. as if I would ever do that.. but just in case.. I could nail that song!
Now that I'm watching Gossip Girl again {it's fine..judge away!}
I am reminded at how excited I am to go blond and try and look like Blake LOL sad attempt I know.. but an attempt I will make non the less.

{"Heeeeeey!"}

This Yard Sale Sign is my inspiration for tomorrow. EVERYTHING GOES!!!
