Snow on my nose and eye lashes

Do you guys know who Jessie J is? Apparently she is a song writer from the UK and released an album...mmmmaybe two. These songs are ones she wrote that didn't get picked up. You can almost hear who she had intended it for, and it turns out that HEY that girl can freaking BELT!
who she has written for:
Miley
Britney
Justin
"Despite being hailed as 'the best singer in the world' by Timberlake, Jessie credits her career so far to her fine blagging skills."
-here:
Willow Smith
Chris Brown
Christina

Here is her video for "Who You Are". I think it is so beautiful..
She also has a new single out called "Do It Like A Dude" that I really love. Here she is at the Brit Awards singing it acoustic.. I like the dance version too, but at 3:00  in the video its my favorite lol. She reminds me of Nikki Minaj the way they both take on this different funky style or personality when they sing.

Alright so enough of that. It started to snow the other night as I was walking to the subway from work in the west village. I was SO excited I literally started to skip down the street in the snow that was collecting in little white patches. The only non Christmas song I could think of with snow in it is that "Sound of Music" lyrics "snow on my nose and eye lashes.." And they really do fall down onto your eye lashes! I would blink the little pearls of snow away down onto my cheeks..I was beaming!

This is just outside my front doors...see it??? Yeah I know.... it is very light..but it counts!
Also you know its my brownstone because of the Halls wrapper on the ground..oops!

Today I decided to head out and hit up some parks I've been wanting to go to. I went all the way down to my usual stop (West 4th) and strolled on over to the beautiful Washington Park.
The Monument there, the Arch is just beautiful..and GIANT! My goodness I sat there for three songs worth while I took it all in. Its a green park with pine trees, lawns and plenty of squirrels rushing about trying to recall where they hide their nuts.

The grand NYU surround the park, along with some brown stones that were so old, yet refined looking I'm sure that Washington himself must have lived in one of them.

Union Square is pretty, lots of dogs running and playing together.. basically being adorable and making me miss little Marley (the poodle/mix that I owned for a few years, then gave over to the loving and capable hands of my sister sue).
But my Favorite part of Union Square was the Farmers Market that I happened upon! I bought some fresh Organic and local honey, hot fresh apple cider, and a single daisy (which I ended up giving to a cute little kid on my walk up to Madison Square Park)

 Just as you come up to Madison from the south east end, you come across the the Shake Shack. I have read about this place and their amazeballs burgers and shakes. I ordered the mushroom burger of course (their only veg option) and packed it away safely. No way was I about to eat that there outside. But it was very pretty with light strung up above out over the cute little park chairs and cafe tables. It was just TOO cold for that! But still I bookmark it in my mind for when my brothers come to town. (All the time I do this. I see a place and snap a photo of the cross streets to I'll be able to find my way back for when someone is in town. I have places all over the city just perfect for certain friends and family ;)

I trekked further north in search of the New York Open Center. I hoped that it would see Hemp Seed Oil which I prefer to use in my massage. On my way I happily stumbled upon a Crumbs bakery. E told me about these little bakeries all over the city. "THEY are the best!" he raves. So I stopped in. What else goes more prefect with a mushroom burger than a cupcake am i right?

(One thing I love about this city is all of the wonderful, stop you in your tracks architecture around you ALL of the time. No matter where you are, what part of the city.. it is so grand and lovely to look up and see what has been built and put there for us to marvel at. Brick my brick someone made this, and I love that I get to see it while on my way here or there.)

 Before I forget: these are my favorite shots of the Washington Park. The Arch frames the Empire State Building behind it several blocks north of the park. Isn't it beautiful!? The details are dizzying when you get closer :)

Ok so back to the baked goods :)
These folks aren't messing around! They have giant cupcakes, cakes, and many other treats.. I stood there... happy...warm..hungry..and with more then enough cash in my pocket.
I will be back for more. Oh so much more! Is there a Crumbs near you?

I have a serious yet odd question.  Can Buildings have brick envy? Because all day long I noticed that if one building was tall...the one RIGHT next to it was taller. A small voice san out from somewhere high above, "Anything you can do I can do better.." take a look:

Thats all she wrote my dears. Is it still chilly winter weather where you are or are things warming up? Treat yourself to any yummy home made or otherwise acquired goodies? Or are we doing better then myself on the whole New Year Resolution thing?

When, "I am so sorry!" doesn't cut it...

...I thought saying your sorry when you truly mean it fixes everything.. or at the very least helps to mend what went wrong. But There just ins't anything to say to make sitting in someone lap on the subway ok There just isn't. Regrettably I was the one doing the sitting on this afternoon. It was an accident people! lol.

Lets back up....

Last wednesday I noticed I didn't feel all too well.. then on Friday night while hosting at work we were packed! And therefore I had to yell with my sad sore throat... and by the end of the night I had lost my voice. E told me that my laughter sounded more like an old truck trying to start... lol. sad.
So for the past few days I have tried nothing but meds, tea, hot baths, and rest. Until today....

Today I decided to go pick up my two books waiting for me at the Mid Town Library!
1. Harry Potter of course
2. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
 I have already started Hunger Games which makes this a total of three intense books I will attempt to read back to back to back :)

Once the books were in my hot little hand I decided to take a misty stroll through central park to find the Belvedere Castle
At the 5th and Bryant Park Subway station. I love all the title artwork in the subways. They are all a little different but so pretty.

Oi. Statue in the park looked a little grim.. much too....Lord Of the Rings for me with the over cast sky and misty dark weather

Love Seat out front of the Castle

Thru the doors...

From the top layer there are little steps to stand on and see far off into the distance

I love that while walking along Park Ave and 79th street there is a sweet smell of pine in the air from the recycled Christmas trees in the planters. This is true for all over the city.

Park ave still twinkling with lights :)
the sights went perfectly with my play list of jazzy blues songs from BB King, Muddy waters, to Etta James as I walked hot tea in hand to the Castle ....

Rockin my Puma pants and rain boots.. not only do I sound sick..I look it lol.

red roses left behind on the bridge near the castle entrance...

see what I mean about the tile work in the subways? lol I cant seem to get enough. This is at the Museum of Natural History exit of course...

View of the Upper East side  and pond from the Castle

When you're me, where there is foliage / there is a secret garden.

I love this view of the city buildings over tall trees and lawns.

Messages of love in the fog

And so after my trek through the park along 79th finally finding the Belvedere Castle, I headed down into the subway. When the B train came my way shrieking to a sudden and violent stop I thought to myself , "greeaaaaat one of these trains!" I hate the trains that are loud and jolt when they start or stop. Its just so....jolting! I sat with my bulging purse that now housed my books, between two very large and unwavering woman. I held fast and when the seats opposite me became more roomie then my current situation I decided to dash across the row and sit next to two other girls who were more of the "personal bubble" respect then these woman beside me were.. my switch was so fast, but just as my bootiliciousness was about to seat itself, the train lurched forward and loosing my footing and grip on the bar, sat my "hefty lefty" in her unsuspecting lap!
 I opened my mouth to say I am SO SORRY! But instead of sounding sincere, I sounded more like a tranny with a smoking problem. I had no way to explain to the poor girl that this was the first time i spoke words in two days! besides would that make you feel better? Not me.. "I sat in your lap so sorry..oh dont mind my voice Im just deathly ill!" lol. So I decide instead to take the hit and just lower my head back down into my Harry Potter book.

Geez. Thank goodness I am home again. Not leaving the house until totally necessary!

Peace, and happy safe travels to you all!!!
Oh and ps, i JUMPED up out of her lap and sat back down a good safe "sorry, I will not touch you ever again in anyway" distance away from her ;)

New Years Greetings!

As a gift to myself in the new year, I figured out how to add photos again to Blogger! YAY

I know, I know, Christmas is over. And with all the stores having jingle bells on repeat and all, I'm sure you want to push Christmas, and all things red and green in a box and give it a hardy shove to the back of the closet.
So hang in there for just a few few photos :)

This year for Christmas some new girl friends and I went to New Port, Rhode Island.
{and fudge was at the very TOP of our to-do and to-eat list}

 Mamba Kitty missed me! And when I got back she pretty much lived in my lap..and still does :)
(what wonderful color is that on your back wall?  >you ask?   Why thats "Jamaican Bay"...psssst newly panted ;)
This shot is actually a little older. Its from my second day here in NYC. I went to the top of the Empire State Building. The view is like nothing I have ever seen! It is beautiful. Just breath taking to see so far in so many directions!

Ah yes.. back to New Port shots!
 Have you been to New Port? It is one of THE most beautiful beach towns I have been to. (sorry Cali) But this small and beautiful island is full of history, charming cottages, gorgeous mansions, moody oceans, and cobble stone streets. Plus the Kennedys would summer here...soooo whats good enough for Jackie....

30 Rock man
(can't help but sing the 30Rock tv show tune when I pass by here
"mmmmmmmmmm POW! Boodoop powowouw!")

 The St. Paul's Chapel (245 yrs old) that just wont go down! This church has an impressive history! Right now it is known for when the twin towers fell in NYC, this church should have been crushed. But not a brick was harmed that day. In the weeks to follow the fall, rescue workers used the church as a retreat to rest up, eat, and find hope.
This is where I work everybody!
 Agave in the village as it geared up for New Years celebration.
(no pictures are available ON purpose from this night ;)
{momma didn't raise no fool}

Our apartment windows trimmed in their holiday best!
 This is before E's family arrived... all eleven of them... yeah lets all take a moment to let that truly sink in.... 11 for 11 days. Talk about being the Host with the most!

When we went to NewPort, RI we were upgraded in our room! We stayed in an awesome room literally ON the water, and in the mornings we woke up and looked out the window to see this sight... perfect am I right?!

LOL These photos are terriably unorganized. Ahhh well...
SO this is from just the other day when the weather took a winter dip into the 20's. Pretty high actually for this time of year here. Back in Az I hear they had a sunny Christmas with temps in the 70's!!!
{Hat . Forever 21}
{Face . MaryKate and or Ashley}
{Scarf . ZARA aka my new fav store}
{Coat . Victorias Secret}

The Museum of Natural History just might be my favorit place in all of New York. That might seem a little weird to you.. but then.. maybe you haven't ever been in the lobby..
 This guy greets you when you first walk in and I could have just stayed there all day to be honest! The museum is giant, with entire WINGS of this grand building dedicated to every wonder of this world.. space, dinosaurs, human life, nature, ocean life, jungle life, ect ect ect.
 Needly to say I bought myself and nephew matching dino time line shirts. It had to be done. Also I have already worn it and been given the thumbs up by approving subway riders.

outside of one of the smaller gates to a 1890s Vanderbilt Mansion on the ocean called The Breakers.
I deeply encourage you to take a peek at this site that highlights this home and several others... I wish we could have toured them all

Spanish Snow man outside Agave windows
 :)

The tree at 30Rock!

One of the sprawling lawns at The Breakers. We may or may not have done massive cart wheels on the lawn, and ran around with our arms out stretched singing Sound of Music songs and giggling at cute boys...

So thats it!
 Now your all caught up! HAHA Not even close. But I AM trying :)
Im currently fighting off a cold and have been held up on the sofa watching "Secret Circle" and "Revenge" episodes online and eating left over spaghetti.
I have become oddly obsessed with going to Monte Carlo. No I don't think I am Grace Kelly, or as lucky in love. But after speaking to my new dear friend Oliver (who has lived there, and well.. everywhere!) it sounds too glamorous to pass up! Parties dresses jewels water front hotel rooms beaches year round 78 sunny weather shoes art shows.... who wants to come with me!
I have also become more open to working on a cruise ship as a massage therapist some time soon. Thoughts? The conditions are crap. lets face it. they can dress it up any way they want to online, but there isnt a line out there where you dont share a small closet sized cabin with multiple people, work 12hr days + and get next to nothing days off.. like ohhhh 1 day!
 But you get paid crazy well for it. and you DO get to travel for free. Most of them pay for your plane ticket there and back, and your living expenses ie room and board, food ect is paid for while on the ship.
But that would mean possibly 6 months away from my new home and adorable kitty cat...hmmmm

OH! And out COURSE my New Years Resolution.. do ya'll have one? Lets hear it!!

Mine is the tired and true "get fit/lose weight" and on day six and having just finished off the last of the marsh mellows I can say that NOW Im ready to REALLY start ;)
Better luck to you all!!
