Once Upon an Anthropologie dream...

Anthro emailed me this morning {good morning!} guess what? They have NEW STUFFF! Lots and Lost of Pretty Pretty Stuff!
And since technically I still have 4 minutes to sleep until I had to RUN slowly saunter out of the door... I fell back onto my bed floor and dreamt a sweet dream where I had thinner legs, and a fat macdaddy bank account to burn up on rich sofas, textured throws, and floral plates :)

And so.. I give you.. my mid-dream lusts:

I LOVE these bowls. Aren't they Adorable? Aren't you totally jealous of mid-dream me? Me too..
Also I'm a little on the out right nutty side when it comes to silverware :/ I need good and even weight distributed along the prong points and the handle.. I know.. it's ok. I know I;m out there.
I ADORE these plates. I want.. I pine.. I covet! I also really like these different shades of blue for glasses, tea cups and mugs to go along with it!

I also really love these linen napkins. I like the matchy-mismatchyness of it all :)

My bedroom inspiration...Pink, and Gold with neutral tones in ivory, and crystal..

Big Ol cozy chair with plush cozy rug under it  for chilly morning toes

I really like this sort of burnt orange/gold bedding here. I went back and forth on the little color toggle looking at the cream colors and even a deep blue. But I think this one wins out! LOVE the Huckleberry candle mmmm

I'd like..if possible {and in mid-dream land everything is} for my bed to hang and hover over the chilly chilly hard wood floor. Isn't that the most bombtastic thing EVER?
I love the girlie frilly vanity too..although I'd really love to have those show room lights around a large square mirror.
This light on the right reminded me at first as some kind of prison light used in an interrogation room equipped with a suspiciously wet dirty floor and cold hard single steel  chair. But then I made it PuRpLe and it went straight to being my fav new mood lighting!

Obvs my new sofa the curl up and stretch out on while I watch Meredith Grey and Christina be total bad asses. these curtains are so pretty and frilly but also heavy enough to block out the light when I need to recover from the night before :/
This blue throw.. how much do you love it? HOW MUCH!? man that would look SO good in my house, on me, covering up my chilly toes and nose.

Just the lamp shade to replace the nappie one currently on my Grandmothers lamp I received from her passing. LOVE the lamp. Hate the shade. Blugh. So I think this one is so cute to top it off :) Also as of 5:15 this am my bulb burnt out in said lamp {ONLY lamp in my room!} and I just sold my back up bulbs at my yard sale bahaha who knew?

I don't know what this book is about.. but I dig it. and so will my coffee table yo. The chair is to go with the vanity above, and this shelving system is what really sold me on all of this really. How amazballs is this thing! I don't even know how I'd get this home via the subway or cab... but I will carry that shiz all the way home and up the stairs on a dolly if I gots to!

of course these little guys here just bring more mmm and whaaaa? to the room. Just how I like it :)

Then my cat jumped onto my stomach knocking the air out of me and meowed a very loud, very clear "WAKE UP AND FEED ME.. FEEEED ME!!"
So naturally I rolled over and did sort of a tuck and roll move to make her cuddle with me for just one more min. she loved it.

Fab FAB FABULOUS

I have have had the daunting task of deciding what to "Take" and what to "Toss" in my BCave.
Lucky for me saying good bye to old shoes was easy, and buying three new pair was FUN!

Don't you love them?! I have already wore the top pair out on a date with SacTown and not only did I get compliments, I got lingering looks ;)
On our date we went out to dinner, then to a brewery for drinks, and when I thought the night might be over, we stayed out till almost one am dancing at a jazz bar. It was really nice. He is funny, smart, GORGEOUS, and a gentleman.

I haven't worn the others but soon and very soon i shall bust them out in all their adorable glory!

Today I give my two weeks notice at work, and I couldn't be MORE nervous. Well..never say never right?!
This weekend will be packed with yard sales {where I'll be selling everything from my bed-to my tv-to my candle sticks} I'm sad to see everything go, but I am so excited to get rid of it all! How does that even make sense? Who knows, but it's true :)

Thank you to all the lovely and supportive comments and emails I received after my last post. I truly and thankful for such great readers :)

My local Chandler Library has decided to TORTURE me by having me on some buillshiz wait list for the third Harry Potter book. I'm literally on the edge of my ....bed here people! Common now, give me a break. I need my Potter!
I have kept the anxious withdrawals at bay with YouTube videos of A Very Musical Potter. A musical done by production co called Starkid with Darren Criss who wrote and stars as Harry. You might know him as Blaine from Glee.

Enjoy that! :)
I have been watching it and CRACKING up laughing.

Hope you all are having a lovely week!

Mardi Party

(mini top hats are my fav ps)
This last weekend my sister and I went to a Mardi Gras party that was interesting :)
The party is hosted by a co worker of my sisters. The couple met and lived in New Orleans up until  Katrina. These people are so nice, so fun, and so giving. They helped me by asking a family member to be my host when I went to New Orleans for the Jazz Festival last April. I cant believe it has been one year already!
For the party I wore my standard purple pants of course! Gold animal print Guess heels, and a purple and gray top with authentic Bourbon Street Mardi Gras beads ;)
My gorgeous sister and I on our way into the par-tay!

*

this last week has gotten warmer here in Az. its our two week (maybe three if we are lucky) window for Spring time weather before we dive head first into the Summer weather.
I have been laying out in my back yard with cool breezes and a slight tan while reading my books and trying to relax
New tan calls for a few new summer tops. I have few.. which is weird because in the winter I felt like I had only summer tops and nothing warm enough.. huh isnt that the way though ladies?
This is one of my favorite Carrie looks.
Florals and stripes have long been a love of mine since I was a little tom boy. I felt the stripes toned down the flowers when I was hangin with the boys on the street.. but I am such a sucker for girlie lace and flowers that even though I was a mean street hockey goaly playing with the guys, I still needed to maintain my awesome flowered tops lol..
The love affair continues with this summer top I bought this past week.

I am in love and can not wait to wear it out on a warm Az night
(eck apologies for tan lines..its a work in progress that tan of mine)

I watched two movies last night that were inspiring, frightening, and a little sickening.
First was Harry Brown.
This suggestion came from my sister who I made listen to a song called "She Said" by Plan B. Turns out my sister recognized the singer from this movie where he plays an awful horrible gang member.
She and her roommate went on about the caliber of acting, and that although it is pretty gritty, it is worth the watch.
I watched.
I then shook a little in a ball in the corner.
She is absolutely right though about the acting. its incredible really. I am amazed at the process actors go thru to pll off roles like these... but have something handy like I Love Lucy (which I bought the first season of and am LOVING) to watch after so that you can feel safe in your home again enough to fall asleep.

The other movie she suggested I had never heard of, called Volver. This stars Penelope Cruz who I love and adore. I think she is possibly the most beautiful woman, and such a powerful actress. One little tear rolling down her face and I am a mess!
I am on her team, I am in her corner, I am cheering her on, and also wondering how in blazes they make her eye make up so perfect (blast that liquid eye liner!)
*****

Recently I took a pass by the magazines out in the lobby at work and picked up a Bazaar Magazine spread with Jennifer Aniston remaking Barbara Streisand pictures.. obvs I obsessed and brought them here for you to enjoy! (esp my very own Babs twinsie "StoBird")

I will be email diving again soon.
Thank you for all your lovely emails and comments on my last post. Children, for me, are a touchy subject.

Oi

Everyone say good bye to Ted.
On Saturday night I was invited to his place for dinner and a movie. It was POURING down rain that night!
Now I don't know how many of you watch How I Met Your Mother, let alone memorize it like *cough* I seem to have. But "Ted" and I had a conversation that went something like this:
walking into the store with him doing my best to avoid puddles...
Me: "Ok if I fall minimal laughter please!"
Ted: "Well here hold onto my arm so you don't."
M: "Aw thank you"
T: "Don't thank me it was my plan all along"
M: "...?...the rain?"
seriously pleased with the way he is about to take this ...
T: "Yeah I made sure it would be raining so you'd have to get close"
seriously a little weirded out by where this is going...
M: "I'm sorry you made it rain? Is that what your saying here?"
T: "Yeah I did a little rain dance and everything earlier"
M: Smiling because this flashes in my mind...

Yeah.. he is Ted What The?
He told me he started to watch HIMYM and he really liked it.. but DIDNT LIKE TED! I can't make this stuff up people. I choked on my ranch soaked lettuce and thought about telling him I kinnnnnnda think he IS Ted.. but then I thought surely this is against some kind of tv/reality paradox rule.. right?
Anyway he later spent time going into detail about how he has fallen for me, and is ok with moving to New York with me if that's what it takes... so as nicely as I could I explained that this was too fast, I was not on the same page emotionally, and although I am having a nice time it is going pretty fast, and the NY offer is a lot of pressure! (Reminder.. this was our FOURTH date people) I explained that if I just went along with it from here on out knowing how he feels and knowing I don't feel the same, I would be leading him on, and it just isn't fair to either of us, and that we should end this now before anyone got hurt.
Don't get me wrong this was a great little set up. A nice guy getting me thoughtful gifts, making dinners for me, thinking I'm the sun and the moon..and tells me just about every hour.. sure. But to be honest I don't like to feel put on any pedestal, and I don't think it is right to just go along with and let someone continue to treat you like that if (one) you don't like to be even if it is nice and (two) if you aren't going to be returning any favors.
I was able to make him agree we weren't in the same place or a good match... he was sad and walked to me my car when I left.

But I left my earrings there! Balls! ugh I have done this before.. freaking A.
I got them back.. they are my favorite pair, and he decided to use them as leverage to talk more..
"ugh" with me people. (Shaking-which made me feel awful) He gave me one earring back at a time in my drive way last night, but then just bailed and didn't want to talk anymore? Whatev. I went back inside and was then bombarded with a short novel worth of texts (the first one of course proclaiming how I wouldn't have to worry about hearing from him anymore) and that he was glad this was so easy for me-ouch man common geez
So.. back to the 'ol drawing board gals

In other obsessive news check these out!

For the life of me I can NOT remember where I was looking at these last week. Boo.. if you recognize them or know where let me know.. let us all know :)

Oh Happy Day

So this morning I treated myself to a Starbucks favorite (Venti Iced Chi Tea.. Soo good!) I over heard two men talking about how poor the economy has been for them, and jobs available..
Man 1: "I mean, the only thing I got was washing dishes.. washing dishes! Can you believe it?"
Man 2: Gunts and shakes his head in pity and disbelief..
Man 1: "Ugh! It's just my luck that I would be washing dishes!"
Man 2: "You said it.."

I got into my car at this point but thought.. you know Man 1.. yes you ARE lucky! Now I don't know his situation.. maybe it was ironic because he invented a dish soap back in the day.. or maybe he has a condition that he can't stand for a long time.. but I am thinkin you know what? Some people can't even find that much..so how about cheer up there buddy.. and your obvs not THAT bad off considering you just got a latte and have a giant pack of cigarettes, are dressed nicely and your up and awake on Valentines Day having a coffee with a friend (at 5:45am I mean really that's early dude!)

Ok climbing back down off my soap box for the day :)

Sooo this weekend was full of baking.. interesting baking too let me tell ya!
Cookies for a going away party at work on Friday! yummm

My sister made me this giant yummie cookie along with a card, movie tickets and candy treats as a surprise at her place for me on Saturday morning!

Last night I took on the challenge to make these cupcakes... I should have used different icing.. but other then that they are really good! And everyone here at work is lovin up on them!
Combined Yellow and White cake..on accident lol no master mind plan behind that one!

Dyed 1/3 of it Pink For the center

Made small cut out hearts! A few of them MAY have been eaten in the line of battle :)

Decided to make a larger cut out personal cake.. for me! lol it was used as practise for the decorating.. and it was very good!
So you fill in the cup cake tin with the white cake mix, and put in the heart cut out and then fill it in on the sides!

I tried alll the fancy frosting.. I hated them all lol And just swirled them

Tried my hand at adding a little something extra in butter cream frosting.. but its just too dang soft to do that with..

Still.. Yum!

*

I also had to have a very serious talk with myself in the dressing room over this dress:

it went something like this:
"But my boobs look bomb in this.. and I look really thin too.. and tan!"
"But you don't NEED it"
"Yes but its PINK I could wear it for my date! HAHA!"
"No.. you already know what your wearing.. "
"Yess.. BUT its pink and girlie.. I could wear it Anywhere really.."
"Like where though?"
"....."
"yeah..take a picture for the happy memory and put it back"
"Your no fun."
"New York or the dress?"
"Yah you win"
Luckily this was all INside my head other wise I would have had some odd looks when i came out for surzies.

Now I didn't watch the Grammys (no tv remember) But I did pop online and pick a few of my fav dresses!

Love them anyways.. Gleesters

I think I just like the dress because I like HER Florence I love you :)

Ok I love everything about this! The color (I'm a purpaholic) and the frills and the bow, the length loving all of it, and her shoes choice too.. props yo.

This is really pretty too with the purple and long draping

she can do no wrong this woman I swear.

I couldn't find any good pictures of Mumford and Sons who I hear played with Bob Dylan.. awesome.. and Carrie Underwood who I usually really like what she wears too, and the pictures for GaGa freaked me out lol..

SO!
Date night tonight, cupcakes all day, and love songs over head..

So far my fav love songs that have played today are:

*Leaving on a jet plane
*Lady in Red
*Have you ever (Brandy)
*I will always love you
*When a man loves a woman
*We've got tonight (stay)

Happy Valentines Day!
