As you may or may not recall from a previous post, I am trying to read for pleasure. Right now I am at "Pray" in Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I love this book for so many many reasons! I love the way that she writes, I love that she is honest to the core, and I love that for the past few weeks I truly feel I have been eating gelato in Rome right along with her. Finding my own way to seek pleasures, and now thinking about how it is that I pray.

Of course I can not wait for the movie to come out later this month with the beautiful Julia Roberts! I have tentative plans to meet with sister, friends, and mothers for the show. Giant plates of Italian food to follow so we can talk about the movie and book of course.
My favorite passages so far in reading the book, are the two below. I have a good feeling there will be plenty more! :
Page 141
"The resting place of the mind is the heart. The only thing the mind
hears all day is clanging bells and noise and argument and all it
wants is quietude. The only place the mind will ever find peace is
inside the solece of the heart. It's where you need to go."
Page 75
"I look at the Augusteum and I think that perhaps my life has not
actually been so chaotic after all. It is merely this world that is
chaotic, brining changes to us all that nobody could have anticipated.
That Augusteum warns me not to get attached to any obsolete ideas
about who I am, what I represent, whom I belong to or what function I
may once have intends to serve. Yesterday I might have been a glorious
monument to somebody true enough- but tomorrow I could be a fireworks
depository. Even in the eternal city says the silent Augsteum, one must
always be prepared for riotous and endless waves of transformation."
